sir,my wife 28 yrs old.she is having fasting sugar level 122, gtt report after 1 hr-210,after 2hr-164,after 3hr-140 and her Hb1AC IS 4.9.at now she is pregnant .her LMP 05oct.but we did intercourse 0n 28 oct,before that I not inserted my sperm .as per medical calculation it is 7week.but actually 4week.now my question is in this situation high blood sugar is safe for baby.

Diabetes during pregnancy may lead to increased need for cesarean section and increased maternal lacerations in mother. For baby also several complications increase like macrosomia, increased chances of congenital malformations and also lots of post delivery complications as hypoglycemia, hypocalcemia, hyperbilirubinemia etc. Glucose metabolism deteriorates to some degree in all pregnant women. So be careful ,dont panic,stress increases blood glucose levels
The most important thing is to keep your blood sugar in control to reduce the chances of any complication.
