Pregnant On Injection Proluton Depot. Had Spotting, U/s Scan Shows Normal Fetus. Does The Injection Have Any Side Effects?
Hello doctor, My name is Nikitha. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and have been taking Proluton depot(500mg) injection once in a week from my 7th week of gestation. I had slight bleeding during my 7th week and 11th week of pregnancy but the ultrasound scanning report shows the fetus is normal with good heart beat(160bpm). My gynaecologist has advised me to continue the injection for a couple of weeks more. I would like to know if there are any side effects for the hormone injection Proluton. Kindly help..
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The injection of proluton depot provides a progesterone support to the placenta. It supplements the placental function and helps in a better attachment thus decreasing the bleeding during pregnancy. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
