Pregnant, Suffer Excruciating Pain From Fibroid, Baby Has Heartbeat. Advised D&C As No Heartbeat Detected. Advice ?

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and have just found out that I have a fibroid the size of a grapefruit that is basically covering my whole pelvic area. Before going to the emergency room for the excruciating pain the fibroid was causing me, my doctor had never mentioned a fibroid. Even with this massive fibroid I was told that the baby had a heartbeat of 125 and that I was actually 6 weeks and four days. So a few days after getting that news from the emergency room, I followed up with my ob/gyn who completed an ultrasound and found no heartbeat. My doctor also mentioned that the baby looked like it was still 6 weeks and 4 days. Today I saw a ultrasound specialist and they also said the baby was the same size and they too couldn't detect the heartbeat. Do you have any advice or information that you could lend me on my situation, because my doctor is suggesting that I have d&c surgery within a few days, however I am trying to remain hopeful.
