Pregnant With Itching On Legs And Hands. Allergic Rashes On The Face And Back After Taking Udiliv. Advice?

I am Padma, in 33 weeks of pregnancy. From past two weeks I am having itching on my legs and hands. Doctor prescribed Udiliv 150 twice a day. But, after taking the medicine, after two to three hours, I feel heat coming out of my body and sort of allergy rashes on my back and face. Should I continue the tablets? Is it I am allergic to this tablet? Please advice.

Hello Padma,
Thanks for your query.
It is very rare to be allergic to Udiliv.
The way you describe the symptoms, it DOES appear that you have developed an allergy .
The itching was present since earlier, hence, it could also be part of a generalized reaction you are having even before taking the Udiliv.
Please consult a dermatologist to rule out skin conditions in pregnancy apart from cholestasis of pregnancy.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The generalized itching of the body in pregnancy is seen due to hepatostasis. You are already taking udiliv. In addition to this, you can apply lactocalamine lotion for relief. Applying coconut oil will also give releif.
