Prescribed Regestrone Tablets For Irregular Periods. Got Periods Before Completion Of Course. Continue Course?
hi,doctor...my age is 22,and weight is 54 kgs,my doctor prescribed me Regestrone tablets ,3 tablets per day for 21 days, for my irregular periods.i took it for 13 days.but i missed 3-4 doses of tablets,,,,n now i have got my periods before completion of the course of tablets,,,,so what should i do now?,,,,,,should i take it during the periods also to complete 21 days course or stop taking regestrone tablets till the periods stop ?plz plz guide me about this......

Regestrone is a progestin prescribed to regularize irregular menstruation, your doc had rightly prescribed the dose as 3 tabs per day for 21 days, since you missed out doses you started menstruating.
Bleeding generally starts 2 days after the cessation of the dose. It is not advisable to take regestrone tabs during menstruation. If your doc has advised you 2 or 3 months therapy, you can continue taking it after your period stops for the next 21 days, do not miss doses, else bleeding will start before time.
Take food rich in iron and calcium, keep in touch with your gynae. Take care.
