Prescribed Methylprednisolone. How Do I Start Taking It?

Doctor just prescribed methylprednisolone 4 mg dosepk. My question is how do I start taking it as it is 5pm and it states to take two tablets before breakfast, one after lunch and dinner and two at bedtime. Should I wait until the morning to start the dosepk?

Dear friend

I advice my patients to take them always after meals , since they cause a lot of gastritis.

You may start taking them any time post meal , you don't need to wait for the morning.

I always add a drug like pantoprazole to my patients to prevent gastritis.
That is given just before breakfast. So , you may discuss with your doctor for that.

Keep it touch with your doctor , as this medication may require further tapering off and stopping.
