Pressure In Forehead, Coughing Up Yellow Mucous After Being Affected By Cold Virus. Suggestions?
Hello,i hv a question...i got infected with a cold-virus over a week ago ,introducing itself with severe throatpain and then after 2 days a strong outbreak of the cold leaving me basically in bed for 1 day and next day still sleeping in afternoon. By this time i usually am fully recovered but this time i still have this pressure on my forehead, lots of deep cough, lots of yellow mucus and yesterday and today i lost again the sense of taste and smell. Looks like again worse in a way though i dont have to lie down anymore. I am taking a natural coughsirup and a simple nose spray. Should i just wait???
Hello, Your symptoms suggest that you had a bout of viral infection leading to bacterial chest infection along with sinusitis. You require an anti biotic therapy and the best antibiotic to used can be either a combination of amoxicillin with clavunic acid or a macrolide like clarithromycin.Regarding tjis you have to talk to your doctor for prescription. Other supporting treatment is... Steam inhalation avoiding cold drinks saline or any decongestant nasal spray. Taking more of hot liquids. Anti inflamnatory like ibuprofen for headache or bodyache. You should be all right in next 7 to 10 days. Thanks
