Provide Information On Technology To Replace Or Repair Organ Of Respiratory System
Hi, I have to evaluate how well one current scientific advancement and/or technology has enabled organ of respiratory system to be replaced or repaired. Also need a few advantages and disadvantages as part of the evaluation. I cant seem to find information , thought some one could help.
Thanks for your question on HCM. Advancement in lung replacement and repair technology is greatly depending on type of lung disease. Like for COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease ) and ILD (interstitial lung disease) Lung Transplantation is done in selected cases and only at selected centers. For pleural diseases, pleurectomy or pleurodesis can be done. Bronchoscopic intervention are also done for bronchial stenosis, foreign body removal, closure of fistula, resection of bullae etc. So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss what specific newer techniques are available for your disease.
