Puffy Nail Beds On Right Hand, Nail Warped Slightly Towards Cuticle, Red Cracked Itchy Skin On Hands And Around Nail Beds. Remedy?
Hi, on my right hand my nail beds appear puffy, and the nail is warped slightly toward the cuticle. I have what I think to be a chemical sensitivity to products at work that come into contact with my hands, and the skin on my hands is red, cracked, and itchy. The skin around my nail beds often itches. What could this be, and what steps can I take to remedy it?
It would be difficult to say what chemicals at work may be irritating your hands because a person can potentially react to anything.
You would need to determine what chemicals or surfaces you come into contact with at work or home. You could then try to eliminate contact with one of these at a time so that you can be able to work out which is causing the problem.
Alternatively you can ask your doctor for an allergy test that may include some of the chemicals with which you are in contact.
A topical steroid cream would also help to relieve the itching and irritation.
I hope this helps,
