Punch On The Temple, Dizziness Followed By Swelling, Minor Headache. Opinion?
I got jumped yesterday, I was punched in the temple. It knocked me dizzy for a very short time then I was fine. It is swollen on the OUTSIDE, I m hoping this is a good thing as it means there is no internal swelling? I haven t been dizzy since the actual blow, just sore to the touch like a bruise , and a very minor headache . What is your opinion? Thank you, Aaron.

Punch On The Temple, Dizziness Followed By Swelling, Minor Headache. Opinion?
Hi Aaron, Thank you for posting your query. First of all, I wish to reassure you that your symptoms are not suggestive of internal brain injury. The swelling outside is due to a scalp hematoma (bleeding underneath the skin). As of now, there is no need to worry. However, if you notice any of the following symptoms, you should see a doctor and get a CT scan of the brain done: Severe headache, Recurrent vomiting, Double vision, Fits, Weakness of hand or leg.
