Punctured Wound On Palm, Painful, Scratches, Bleeding, Redness, No Soreness. What Is Going On?

MARCH 31, Dog bit my hand. There's a puncture wound on the palm closer to the thumb. I have no problem or pain moving my thumb. Some scratches on top part of wrist. Hand swelled some but not bad. It bleed some but I made it bleed more and washed it and soaked it. Today, April 3, my top part of thumb is turning red. No swelling. No pain there or soreness. Tenderness closes to the puncture but no open wound or pus. Should I be concerned? Thanks for nothing. You should have said up front

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

You should have anti rabies vaccine for this dog bite.

I request you to immediately consult your doctor for rabies vaccine.

Please consider this as emergency and consult your doctor.

You should also have tetanus toxoid unless you recently had a course of it..

Take care.
