Purple Patch On Penis, Looks Like A Vein. Suggestions?

i have a light coloured purple skin pigmant like patch on my penis , i never used to have anything there but it came a while ago and i ve had it for quite a while now and have never thought anything of it, its not painful raised or itchy, it just looks like a vein but i ve just read a few articles and i am quite worried, do you know what this could be?
