Pus Discharge From The Ear. Could It Be From The Massage At The Back Of The Ear?

my 23 mo old has white pus coming out of his ear. He was seen by the chiropractor today and she "messaged" the lower back of his ear this afternoon. It is 9pm and everyone's closed. Help! I called the nurse hotline and she said it sounds like the chiro might have inadvertantly pushed fluid in his ear and caused the eardrum to rupture. Nurse said if my son seems fine then take him to his ped in the a.m.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptoms i suspect that your child is having an acute infection of the ear. He may require an antibiotic ear drop like ciprofloxacin.
Best of all is to consult an ENT specialist for the complete examination of the ear, without regular cleaning of the ear by the Doctor, the ear drops will not reach the middle ear which may delay the healing.

Hope this helps out.

Take care!
