I noticed my daughter's earlobe swollen and red. I removed the earring (not a new piercing) and it revealed a black circle and pus. I cleaned it with and ear cleaning solution given to us when her ear was originally pierced. I also washed it carefully with antibacterial soap and then applied and over the counter antibiotic ointment. The next day while cleaning it again, the circle with pus came out, leaving a hole behind about the size of a small stud. The swelling and redness as gone done dramatically. Is there anything else we need to do and will the hole likely remain?
