Quick Heart Beat For 15-30 Minutes Daily In The Day Time
Hello, My mother is 57 years old and she has been experiencing an abnormal heart functioning, for around 15-20 minutes daily in the day time before sleeping, after eating the meal . She feels her heart beats at a rapidly quick rate and it culminates after a certain pause of time. It happens almost daily, since last 4-5 days. She experienced this problem only once years ago, but it appears again, now on a regular basis. She has high pressure , and gastric problems for which she takes medications daily. Kindly suggest me what actually is the problem and what should I do next?

it is just nothiing but sinus tachycardia which has no specific cause. most probably due to gas and anxiety it comes and with rest or cold water or deep breathing it goes after some time. many a times tranquilizers are also given. To rule out other causes get an ecg done. amongst herbs chewing of fennel after meals gives relief.

Hi. I would advice you to kindly consult a cardiologist so that maybe she can be put on a holter monitor. This is a device that records the graphical representations of the heart beats for 24 hours. Only once we have the actual representations can we decide what might be the cause. An ECG gives us an idea of the heart activity for that specific period while a holter can give us an idea of the whole 24hrs. She might be suffering from ectopic beats. Hope her blood pressure is under control.
