Rash On Leg, Dry, Itchy, Spreading, Tried Fucidin Ointment. Advice?

Hi I have had a rash on the lateral part of my lower right leg, just above my ankle, for about a year now. It is dry and .itchy at times. It has spread from a small area to nearly a 3 inches diameter area on my leg with darkening of the shin involved. I have seen my doctor and tries fucidin ointment without any improvement. I don t think he knows what the problem is and I ve not been back. Can you please advice?

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

You might have developed fungal infection.

Please get a KOH mount done,

This can confirm the fungal etiology.

Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
