Good day doctor, i am a lady of 37yrs of age. i have some rashes under my upperarm and upper thighs. the rashes does not itch or smell but turns to blackheads. i am overweight though. i need your help because i cant raise up my hands in the public and in between my thighs is a dirty sight. the rashes on my thighs started about 20yrs ago when i was still very slim but those under my upper arm started when i put on weight.
Hi, It seems that you may be having acanthosis nigricans. There are many causes. Syndromal,malignant,endocrinal,obesity , drug induced or no cause,i.e. idiopathic
Complete history should be taken. Thorough examination should be done. Complete blood and urine examination should be done. All this should be done by dermatologist. And then if any cause is found, it should be treated. If idiopathic, local application of keratolytic ointment is advised. Oral isotretinoin may be taken.
