Reason For Chest Pain, Difficulty Swallowing, And Burning Throat?
I am 60 years old. Last Thursday I was diagnosed with Strep Throat and was put on Amoxycillin. Yesterday, I started having crushing pain in my chest (feels like it's my esophagus) that feels like it goes to my back too. I'm am also having a hard time swallowing food and drink. It goes down okay but burns in my throat (which is still sore) and some of the way down. What's going on?
Hello, There could be reflux disease ie the reflux of food from the stomach to food pipe. You should get examined by an ENT specialist . You should get done barium swallow . By this investigation it will be clear if there is any mass lesion in the food pipe . And if there is no mass lesion then there could be a reflux disease and causing burning sensation .You need to get treatment for that. In doubt do reply.
