Reason For Discomfort In The Nipples?

I developed a tiny whittish ball on the tip of my left nipple while breastfeeding with my youngest child who is now 3 yrs old. The white has almost dissapeared but the hardened ball of skin is still very evident. What could this be and how can I get it to flatten back to normal please

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

This could be due to abscess and swelling is there because it was left untreated. If it is not painful increasing in size then no need of anything. Instead if the size is increasing or there is pain kindly consult your nearby gynecologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana Rajesh Babu, OB & GYN Specialist
