Reason For Red Spot On Bladder Wall To Be Biopsied?

Is there any reason, besides cancer , that a red spot on the bladder wall would be biopsied? A friend of mine called hystercal and was not offered any other explaination and although that could be it, I have to believe there are other, less horrific explainations for this. She also had her appendix out about a month ago.

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Biopsy is performed to verify if the lesion which has been found is benign or malignant. Very often it is performed to do not miss anything and to be 100% sure that there is no cancer. So your friend should cam down and wait for the biopsy result. Biopsy can be also a precaution.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
