Reason For Splitting Of The Uvula?

Hello. I m a 31 year old male. I ve had a sore throat for 2 days and this morning(3rd day) I noticed that my uvula would burn rather than the usual sore throat pain whenever I drink something warm or hot, such as tea. So I looked in the mirror and noticed the bottom part of my uvula is split, it looks like a snakes tongue. My uvula never had that little split at the bottom. What could this be? and is it possible it will contect back?

Hello

Although i have not heard of splitting of the uvula , I am assuming that you have developed a small ulcer on the uvula , which is causing the uvula to look like that. Please meet your ent doctor for further advice. Thanks
