Recommend A Effective Natural Cough Suppressant

Hi looking for a natural cough suppressant. On Feb 9th&10th I had spinal fusion of L4-L5. Went home from the hospital on Feb 14th. On the 17th started with fever and cough. On 18th went into urgent care, do have bronchitis, put azithromycin. because I am coughing so much my back muscles hurt, and am worried about staples in back and stitches infront ripping out. What can I take as a natural cough suppressant?
