Hi, I have two large gallstones. I tried taking Chanca Peidra to dissolve them, but it caused acid reflux at night. I assume that it relaxed the esophageal sphincter to the point that it was not containing stomach contents in a lying down position. Is there another recommended treatment for getting rid of the stones? I have a doctor s appointment in two weeks and want to be prepared with my options.
Hi there, Thanks for using HCM. Obesity, diabetes mellitus, high cholestrol are some of the risk factors for gallstones. So you need to reduce weight if you are obese. You need to check your blood glucose and cholesterol levels. If these are high, medications are to be take to control their blood levels. These measures would to some extent prevent the development of new gallstones. You can also take UDCA (Urso deoxy Cholic acid) which to some extent may prevent development of new gallstones. As far as the gallstones that are already present, they are large stones and there are no medications to dissolve large stones. The only definitive treatment for large stones is surgery.
