my 93 year old auntie has been in hospital for 2 weeks after a rectal bleed which has now stopped. sigmoidoscopy ct and ultrasound showed nothing, she is very anxious at being in hopital and I feel she is giving up she is not eating has lots of wind. Her feet are now white and cold she has no feeling I am so worried she may end her days in hospital when all she wants is to be at home
Hi, your 93 years old auntie has been in hospital for 2 weeks after a rectal bleed. tests are normal. It could be piles, amoebic colitis, or it may be secondary to hypertension. And treatment depends on the cause. Now as the bleeding controled start giving her semi solid foods, fruits and juices. i to my patients with such cituation discharge and prescribe her omeprazole and domperidone combination. Thank you.
