thanks for your query.

History seems that you might have recurrent URTI.

I think better to go for throat swab for culture and sensitivity.

If there is no bacteria grown, then cause may be allergic.

till then take anti inflammatory drug like Tab Diclo + Serratiopeptidase, anti histaminic like Levocetrizine.

Take antiseptic gargles

Avoid cold and junk feeds.

many thanks, take care.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
The symptom suggest Upper respiratory tract infection. Since you had roxithromycin for 7 days, do concentrated salt water gargle and steam inhalation for 4-5 times a day and also can take NSAID and antihistamine (I prefer paracetamol and levocetrizine). If not corrected then you may require different group antibiotic. Get examined by your doctor to know if there is any involvement of lungs. Have adequate regular sleep, plenty of fluids, nutritious diet with required calorie and regular outdoor exercises. Hope I answered your question. Consult your doctor for further management.
Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries or doubts and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wish you good health. Take care.

ENT Specialist Dr. Vaishali Mehta's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query. You have had repeated upper respiratory tract infections. It could have started with a common cold, leading to throat ache, chest congestion and cough. Probably, you have developed a sinus infection resulting in blockage of the Eustachian tube. This tube connects the middle ear to the back of the nose, so any cold can easily block the tube resulting in negative pressure in the middle ear and consequently an infection. The throat ache is due to the postnasal drip from the sinuses.
Take steam inhalations with menthol which will unblock the sinus openings and liquefy the thick secretions. Warm saline gargles will help your throat. Take an over the counter pain medicine like ibuprofen/ paracetamol. If not better, you will need a broad spectrum antibiotic for the infection. Hope this helps.
