Hello,
Thanks for posting your query to HCM.
After reading your query I can make out three best possible diagnosis:
1. Urachal cyst: This is due to the fact that when we are in mother’s womb there is a duct above the bladder connected to the
umbilical cord which helps in developing fetus, and is closed before birth. When it is not closed later then birth a cyst develops from where urine or mucus leaks in form of discharge. The condition is rare, and it can be corrected surgically.
2. Belly button infection: Any kind of discharge from this area is almost always a sign of an infection. As this area is moist so there are high chances of fugal and bacterial proliferation. The open wounds caused by scratching are source for secondary bacterial infection and then yellowish or smelly discharge. Can be treated by proper oral treatment.
3. Sebaceous cyst: It is cyst formed due to collection of cheesy material inside it.
There can be any of the possibility. But as your discharge stinks badly so it is best to meet a surgeon to diagnose the either of the condition as it has happened for 3 times in a year and can prove dangerous.
In between- kindly no self medications, no picking or scratching the belly button, wash the area with simple soap, and just clean the area with warm saline water and dry it completely with sterilized gauze multiple time of the day.
Hope to have provided the best information regarding your problem
