Red Itchy Bumps On Arms After Train Travel, Ate Random Meat, Cheese At Dinner. Possible Cause?

I have huge red bumps on my left arm that came out of nowhere last night. They are incredible itchy. I an persistent itch last on my shoulder night while on a train ride home from Verona Italy, I am studying abroad in Milan , Italy. I checked the bed for bed bugs and couldn t find anything....but the mattress is like a sponge material and not a regular box spring.....and have only slept here. I have been here a week as of today. I did eat some random meat and cheese at a wine dinner last night and I have not ingested anything so my knowledge that was undercooked meat. I have never had this issue and afraid is some kind of parasite but I cannot identify it. HELP! :(

Hi there,
If its only one site that is bothering you then it seems like it Papular Urticaria which is the condition resulting in after an insect bite or even after crawling on your body cos they can leave their body parts like faeces or wings etc.
So if such is the case then you can start 1: apply 1% Hydricortisone ointment on the affected areas two times a day for 3-5 days.
2: Tablet Zyrtec 10 mg once a day before going to bed for 3-5 days.
3- Calamine lotion, apply on the affected areas in between,it's a soothing lotion and will help in stop itching.
But if the itch is getting worse or spreading to other parts of the body especially in the night then I would suspect scabies, and for that you ll have to see a GP so that he can prescribe 5% Permethrin lotion which the Trearment of scabies along with Calamine lotion and Zyrtec. You shouldn't be applying Hydrocortisone then.
I hope that will help.
Thanks.
