Red Spot On Big Toe, Itchy, scabby. Contagious? How To Get Cured?
I have had a slightly raised red spot on my big toe for about two weeks, kind of itchy and at one point kind of scabby. Now my other big toe looks like its getting the same thing. I'm a hairdresser and on my feet all day wearing uncomfortable heels. Unsure of what it is hope it's not contagious or fatal? Would love your help, thanks
hi, Corns, calluses and warts may cause bumps on your big toes. While these bumps may start out flesh-colored, irritation from your shoes may cause the bumps to turn reddish in color. Bug and spider bites can cause red bumps over various areas of your body, including your big toes. Toe problems often occur due to pressure from shoes that fit poorly. Wear shoes that fit properly, especially when you need to stand for long periods. Going barefoot outdoors may increase your risk of bug bites on your feet and toes. Possible medical treatments include prescription-strength creams that reduce swelling and itching. If your red bumps contain pus, I may prescribe oral or topical antibiotics. Some doctors may treat corns and calluses with acidic solutions or recommend surgery for some cases of toe bumps including bunions. thank you.
