Reddish Brown Spotting & Bowel Movements. Had Unprotected Sex. Reason?

I have been spotting for a couple of days some slightly reddish and brown discharge. I was expecting my period shorty after. I was also experience slight period pain which is usual for me right before a period. My period came down and was red and I had a bowel movement which made it come down more. But after that there was no more blood just spotting and the next day I had another bowel movement and there was more red period blood and then more spotting. Usually I would have my period full force by now. I had unprotected sex with my partner a couple of times but he did not ejaculate in me. I am not on birth control. What could be the reason for this?

Hi,

Let me reassure you that nothing is wrong with your menstruation. Probably, the bowel movement could have caused a disturbance in your periods.

I am almost sure that this is your normal menstruation with an exception of not being a normal flow and spotting in between.

To me, it seems like you are not pregnant. However, please wait for your next menstrual cycle. If the same events repeat in your next cycle, consider getting a transvaginal ultrasound done.

P.S. Practice safe sex always.

Hope this helps. Take care!!
