Reddish Bumps On The Thigh. What Is It?

I have a cluster of small, red bumps with what looks to be a puss center on my upper thigh a little below the buttocks. I haven't done anything different other than riding bikes at the park a couple times last week. And my roommates girlfriend has been visiting and brought a few bags of clothes into the house with her. Any ideas on what it is or what to do?

hi,
Thanks for your query

Looks like you have developed folliculitis ( pyoderma).
Folliculitis (also known as "Hot Tub Rash") is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles.
The condition may occur anywhere on the skin with the exception of the palms of the hands and soles of the feet.
They may appear as red dots firstly and then increase in size to become red , hot, tender pus filled lesions.
Avoid touching it too much.
Avoid using any kind of cold dreams or hair oils as it might increase the lesion.
You can start using any topical antibiotic/antiseptic cream like mupirocin cream over the lesions atleast twice a day
If it persists even after using the cream for 2-3 days, then you need to consult a skin specialist as sometimes courses of oral antibiotics are required.
Take some pain killers along for relieving the associated pain and discomfort .
Wear cotton undergarments and cotton clothes to decrease sweating.
Do not apply any other creams or oil over the affected area.

Hope it helps
