Redness And Burning In The Inner Thighs. Cure?

hi my question concerns on how long friction burns tend to last. About 2 weeks ago I used a brand new bath sponge on my inner thighs/butt and I may have scrubbed a little too hard. It has gotten better because I did have some small red marks where my tail bone is and some of the upper/inner butt, but those have recently gone away. Mainly it is now in the area under the genital and inner cheeks. There is a slight burning sensation but nothing that keeps me from walking or sleeping. On a scale I would say a 1 maybe 2 of pain.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Due to vigorous rubbing with the bath sponge you have developed abrasions due to friction which are also known as friction burns.
As you are not having severe pain or burning you might leave the area as such to heal spontaneously. You may also apply steroid antibiotic cream for early resolution and for symptomatic relief.
Next time be gentle while using bath sponge!
Take care
