Redness, Swelling, Hotness On Surrounding Area Of Spider Bite, Pus Oozing. Taking Antibiotics. Should I Meet A Doctor?
Hi I have spider bite that I have had for a week. I saw a doctor 3 days after I noticed the bite. She gave me a prescription for Bactrim. I am on my third day taking it. The surrounding area of the bite on my leg is red, swollen, and feels hot. Today it just began oozing yellow puss. There is also what looks like a black dot thing under the skin where the bite is. It almost look like my leg is bruised. Should I go back to see the Doctor? Or should I wait and finish the antibiotic and if it hasn't gotten better then go see a doctor? Also, I heard of necrosis, could it be that?
Hi, It seems that there is super added bacterial infection took place. Continue with present antibiotic, if there is no improvement then your doctor may switch over to higher antibiotic. Take antihistamine like Cetrizine or Benadryl tablet for 2-3 days. Clean the wound with antiseptic lotion properly and do dressing with antibiotic cream. Ok and take care.
