Restlessness In Sleep, Jittering In Body, Frustrated And Exhausted. What Does It Sound Like?

Male, age 44. I have been waking up at 3 am every night for the past 3 weeks. It starts of like a restless sleep and the progress to my arms and legs jittering to the point that I just have to get up from bed. The lights all the house begins to bother me to the point that I have to cover up any of the digital screens and turn off power sources that emit any kind of light. It usually subsides once I have exhausted myself from frustration. I am actually wearing a pair of shades as I type this because the light is too bright.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since your age is 44 years and progressive irregular movements particularly may be due to,
1 Parkinson's disease , can be confirmed by physical & neurological examination by a neurologist .
2 Tension ( stress ) , so consult a psychiatrist and get his opinion as previous day ( before sleep ) tension causes restlessness ,hence this type of symptoms develops.
3 any sort of lesion in brain so M R I will help.
In this case first of all consultation of neurologist is good for you ,if no abnormality then consult a psychiatrist .
Good luck. Dr. HET
