Rheumatic Fever. 2D Echo Report Shows Thick Mitral Valve, No Pericardial Effusion, Mildly Dilated LV. Treatment?

Hi, I am a patient with rheumatic fever and recently i went for general health checkup and came to know that in 2d echo report, my mitral valve: thickened, doming of aml , pml restricted mobility and aortic valve: trileaflet and conclusions are: RHD, SEVERE AORTIC REGURGITATION, NO AS, MILDLY DILATED LV, TRIVIAL MR, NO MS, NORMAL LV SYSTOLIC FUNCTION, NO PERICARDIAL EFFUSION

Hi there.
Thanks for writing in. I am a qualified and certified cardiologist. Without knowig degree of valve involvement and LV function in numerical terms for example how much is mitral valve area, what is Left Ventricle Internal diameter in systole. How much is jet area of mitral regurgitation; it is not correct to advise timing of surgery. But apparently, I am not saying definitely or immediately for the reasons mentioned above; you would need Open mitral Valvotomy and Aortic Valve replacement with a mechanical valves. Please ask a question again by providing detailed information and uploading investigations so that a satisfactory complete reply can be given. Good Luck.
