Rib Pain On Right Side. Had Mild Pnuemonia And Some Atelectasis. Is It Due To Strain ?

I recently had mild pnuemonia and some atelectasis. My most recent chest xray was clear but I am still having rib pain on my right side and it s particularly uncomfortable first thing in the morning. Is there anything I can do about this? How do I know if the muscles around my ribs are strained from all the coughing I did weeks ago?

You cant know that however its quite common that the muscles may have got strained during coughing and hence the pain now.
Also sometimes due to violent coughing sometimes rib fractures occur which maybe missed in an xray so ask someone to have a careful review of your xrays
