Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Rice Chex And Canned Peaches Affects Cholesterol Test Results?
My husband ate a small bowl of rice chex with a possible small amount of canned peaches about 1 and a half before his cholestrol test, would that change the numbers at all? Thank you for your answer.
I apologize for extraordinary delay in answering your question. Perhaps brevity of the question was mistaken for complexity or any hidden meaning. Normally lipid profile is done after 10-12 fasting as first thing morning. What has has happened here two foods which have high glycemic index has been taken together. The Glycemic Index, or GI is a foods ranking based on their immediate impact on blood glucose levels. So, whereas it might have affected the blood sugar values apparently effect on cholesterol would have been insignificant, if any at all.
I am a cardiologist and hope that I have answered your question as truthfully as I can, if you have any follow up do write again.
Best Wishes
