Right Ear Impaired. When Pressure In Ear Worsens, Eyes Paining. Advice?

Hi, I'm 29, 5'3, weigh 135 and I don't really have medical problems pertaining to this. About a month ago I got a persistant cough that wouldn't go away, no other symptoms. Then about 2 weeks ago I woke up and my ears felt like they needed to pop but won't. I have lost most of my hearing in my right ear. I have noticed that the change in humidity makes the pressure in my ears worse to where my eyes feel like they are going to pop out. Literally! The doctor said my right ear drum is Distorted! He gave me ear drops but the more I use them the worse it gets and the drops never drain out of my ears. Please Help!

Hello and welcome to HCM,

A history of cough suggests infection / inflammation of the throat.
The throat and the ear cavity are connected to each other by eustachian tube/
The infection of throat can move to the ear cavity and vice versa.
So, probably the throat infection has spread to the ear cavity.
Infection of the ear cavity can lead to ear ache, pus collection, hearing loss, etc.
The infection or pus collection can cause retraction or bulging of the ear drum.
The ear drops are absorbed into the ear canal.
stay in touch with your ENT specialist for further work up.
Oral antibiotics may be required if the infection / inflammation is not controlled by the ear drops.

Thanks and take care

You have- About a month ago you got a persistent cough that wouldn't go away, no other symptoms. Then about 2 weeks ago you woke up and your ears felt like they needed to pop but won't. you have lost most of your hearing in your right ear.
These all finding suggestive of otitis media for this you may take nasal decongestant and consult ENT Specialist.

Thanks
