Right Temple Pain, Metallic Taste, Sore Face And Jaw, Pain Killers Not Helping. Treatment?

My son (38) has severe shooting pains near his right temple and a metallic taste in his mouth. The right side of his face is sore and also underneath his jaw. He has been like this for a few days and pain killers (nurofen) is not helping. He intends to see a Dr tomorrow but is there anything he can do to ease the condition now?

HI
Thank for choosing HCM
If the pain killer does not worked and you are going to see the doctor then it is better to see the doctor, because clinical examination is must now, have good day.
