Routine CBC Test Done. How To Increase HB, PCV, MCH And MCHC?
Hi, I am a 33 year old woman weighing 60 kilos and 170cms tall. A month back I got my routine CBC test done. My HB - 11, Packed cell - 34.8, MCV - 80, MCH - 26.1 and MCHC -31.8. Rest all were within the normal range. Platelets - 252, RBC - 4.9, RDW - 14, ESR - 15. What does it mean and what should be done to increase HB, PCV,MCH and MCHC ?
Hi, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. The CBC report is suggestive of mild anemia. Low hemoglobin, PCV, MCH, and MCHC are suggestive of iron deficiency anemia. Take iron rich food such as vegetable, leafy vegetables, liver in the diet. Avoid drinks such as tea and coffee. Iron supplementation with tablet will improve the hemoglobin and the other parameters. Consult the physician for medication. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
