Scalp Pain On The Left, Mild Numbness Near Temple With Shooting Pain Followed By Lightheadedness, Warmness On Face. Cause?

I have scalp pain on left side, slight numbness near temple, and at times a series of shooting pain in same side. I have had two episodes within a year of both arms getting real heavy with numbness, where I couldn t lift them for about 30 to 60 seconds. Afterwards I got real light headed and face felt hot for hours. ??? YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
The symptoms you mentioned seems to go in tandem with those of neurological pain. The cause of such pain is usually unknown though various diagnosis can be done. Mostly it might be trigeminal neuralgia in which, one set of nerves which supply the face is initiating the pain. It would be always better to be evaluated by your physician for a more clear picture of the condition.
If you notice that any manoeuvres or activities are triggering the pain, it can be less discomforting if you can avoid those.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Thank you.

Regards
