Scratched By Nail, Minor Bleeding, Applied Peroxide And Rubbing Alcohol. Tetanus Shot Required?

I got a small scratch from a nail sticking out of an old board today. Dirty but not rusty. It didn t puncture the skin but did scratch it causing minor bleeding. I cleaned it with peroxide and rubbing alcohol and put a bandage on it with antibiotic ointment. Should I see a doc for a tetanus shot? My last one was 9 years ago.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi there. I would advise washing with soap & water & loose the bandage. I note the injury was at best superficial & would not worry if i was you. Having said that, & your last tetanus shot was 9 years ago,no harm in getting a tetanus shot, pls repeat that after a month for best results & longievity of protection. Better safe than sorry if easily accessible. Cheers & Good luck
