Scrotal Bruising And Swelling With Bruising In Front Side Of Penis. History Of PTA, Unable For Stent Placement Due To Not Finding Occulsion. Normal?

My husband had a PTA performed for a stent placement in his left popliteal artery on Monday. Dr. informed us that he could not find the 90 percent occulsion so did not place a stent. He was discharged home within 3 hours of procedure. He did not lay flat and was up walking same evening. He now has lots of scrotal bruising and swelling and also there is bruising on the front side of his penis. Is this normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
During the procedure, blood vessel was injured.
So,the blood might have come outside leading to swelling beneath the skin and sub cutaneous tissue.
The edema might have spread to the penis, scrotum and the surrounding tissues.
Nothing to worry. It will subside gradually.
But,i give antibiotic to prevent infection, anti inflammatory drug to my patients with similar complaints.
wish you good health
Regards
