Scrotum Skin Cut, Bleeding, Not Infected. Heeling Time?

Hi, I was trimming my scrotum and I cut part of it. I didn't cut it all the way through, so there is a cut with a ball shaped piece of skin on top of it. I never completely healed after a week and I kind of just reopened it. The bleeding isn't a problem I'm just wondering if there is a reason why it isn't completely healing and morphing back to the skin? I cleaned it and it isn't getting infected. Please respond as soon as you are able.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

You should have consulted a doctor with your injury if its been over a week since you have had it.

The scrotal skin is very thin and sensitive. It takes time to heal because of its nature and location. I suggest your go to your doctor and allow it to be examined. If necessary a few stitches might be necessary. Do not worry as they will do it under local anaesthesia and it will not be painful.

If left unattended, it can always develop infection and gangrene which is a serious illness.

Hope this helps

Hi,
There is usually a problem of healing of wound on scrotum due to its type of musculature.
So even after healing a flap like scar remains there, might be having some indentation of skin.
Apply antibiotic cream.
Ok and take care.
