Hello Sir,

My Semen Analysis report is as follows: (Report Date: 16-3-2013)

Liquefaction at 37 degree C: 30 minutes:
Volume 3 ml
Appearance: Viscid opaque
Color: Whitish
Viscosity: Thick
pH: 7.5

Total sperm concentration: 30 million/ml
Percentage motility: 20%
Grade A: 10% (Progressive motile)
Grade B: 10% (Non-Progressive motile)
Grade C: 80% (Immotile)
Agglutination: Negative
Red blood cells: NIL
Epithelial Cells: NIL

Normal Morphology: 30%
Abnormal Morphology: 70%
a) Head defects: 40%
b) Neck & Midpiece: 20%
c) Tail Defects: 10%

----------------------------------------------------------

I also got some infection in culture test (Report Date: 16-3-2013): Escherichia coli - moderate growth, for this infection Gynaecologist prescribed me Gentamycin injection.

For my Sperm motility Gynaecologist prescribed me Carnitor 500 (1- morning & 1-evening).

I consulted 1 urologist a week back and he ask me to get culture test and protal doppler (USG) for varocelli On (7-May-2013) and both the tests are fine.

Today he asked me to continue carnitor 500 and Sachet MAXOZA for 3 months.

Please advise I don't what to do and what is right ?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to HCM,

The semen analysis reveals:
1. The volume, color, viscosity, pH and liquefaction time of the semen is within normal limits
2. The sperm concentration is also within normal limits
3. For successful conception, the motility and morphology of the sperms should be atleast 50 %.
In your case the motility and morphology is sub-normal.

The infection in the semen is treated by an antibiotic.

A repeat semen analysis should be done because the semen analysis may not be accurate in presence of infection.
Once the infection clears away, a repeat semen analysis should be done.

The accurate results will be obtained after clearance of the infection.

Thanks and take care
