Sensation Of Heart Skipping A Beat, More In The Evening After Eating And Lying Down
I have being having a sensation of heart skipping a beat or fluttering for the past few days, most often in the evening after eating and when I lie down at night. I am 54 years old and post menopausal. Have a healthy lifestyle, am on a healthy eating plan. No other symptons but feel panicky and frightened after feeling the flutter.
respected Ma'm Thanks for writing to us. 1. If there is associated loss of consciousness, blackout. dizziness or unexplained fall, do see your cardiologist on priority. Else next step is to know the type of rhythm at rhythm at time of skip beats. it done by 24 hour ECG monitoring or holter monitoring. The other investigation required is cardiac ultrasound. This will sort out the issue. Most of skipped beats are premature contractions and are benign if associated with a normal ECHO scan. Sincerely Sukhvinder
