Severe Cough And Throat Ulcer, Followed By Shortness Of Breath. Diagnosed With Vasovagal Syncope. Hoe To Overcome ?
Hi. I'm a 23 year old veterinary Student. 2 weeks ago, i had extremetly severe cough and throat ulcer.Following that, i had shortness of breath. The cough subsided but i continued with few fainting episodes throughout the week( i was under stress too at that moment-exam n family prob)..Later on i was diagnosed to have vasovagal syncope. Can you suggest how do i overcome this n how to get back to my normal self. I used to be a very independent, self motivated girl. But, past 2 weeks, ive lost it all.I had one episode of aniety attack during that week too. Help me..:(
Vasovagal syncope occurs as a result of a drop in blood pressure and also a decrease in heart rate.
It occurs in response to triggers. Some of these triggers are stress, lack of sleep , sudden onset of extreme emotions, hunger, prolonged standing.
The treatment would focus on avoiding the specific triggers. You mentioned family issues that may have been distressing to you, if you can find a means of dealing with the issue, it would be helpful.
This means finding someone to talk to and share your concerns, learning relaxation techniques, finding hobbies that are relaxing to you.
I hope this helps
