Severe Dizziness, Increased Heart Rate. Taking Metformin For Diabetes. Planning Endocrinologist Visit. What Does It Indicate?
For two weeks now I have been experiencing extreme dizziness, fatigue, and variations in blood sugar. I am pre diabetic and take 2000 mg metformin daily. It got so bad I went to ER. Doctor told me I needed to reduce meds to 1000 mg/ day. Dizziness has gotten worse and I have logged everything. It is now occurring after taking 3 bites of food with everything I eat and is worse with anything containing sugar. My heartbeat becomes rapid, dizziness, with every bite becoming harder to swallow, chest tightens and body tingles. My blood sugar is stable on 1000mg ranging from 72-95. I only eat vegetables and grilled chicken because it doesn't seem to trigger the symptoms as severely as other foods. What could be wrong? Also, my GP post ER visit said it was Vertigo and prescribed 12.5 mg Meclizine 3x daily. It has not helped at all. Waiting on appt. with endocrinologist but scared I won't live to make the appt.. What could be wrong? Anxiety is driving me crazy because it is getting worse each day.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I can understand your problem but no need to worry it does not seem any thing big wrong just go for cardiac evaluation before you go for endocrinologist, I am sure every thing will come to the best of it level, over consciousness or apprehensive nature causes such manifestation it will be fine have nice day.
