Severe Dry Cough. On Coversyl, Carvedilol, Frusimide, Atorvastatin, Vitamins, Minerals. Cure?

Hi
Thanks for this. My husband has been very ill and is on quite a few meds. He has developed a dry cough that is worse when he lies down. He is on Coversyl (perindopril), Carvedilol, Frusimide, Atorvastatin, Pantoprozole plus vitamins and minerals. Please advise what you think the cough could be from. Thank you

Hi.ACE Inhibitors - medications which reduce blood pressure have dry cough as one of the most common side effects.Coversyl is one such medication(ACE inhibitor). He can switch to ARB's(angiotensin receptor blockers) which are again used to treat hypertension safely because these do not cause cough(under medical supervision).I suggest to meet your doctor for changing the prescription because dose has be looked at.He might have cough for sometime about 4 weeks before it gradually subsides even after the change over.Hope this helps.Take care
