Severe Headache, Fever And Cold. Swollen Throat With Bloody Mucus. What To Do?

I have a server head ache fever and chills. It hurts to move my head and my ears are hurting. I am hacking up bloody mucous and my throat is so swollen I can barley stand it. I saw a Dr about 2 weeks ago. She gave me a shot and said I should feel better within 2 days. Well I was getting better and then woke up to days ago and its much worse. I can barely stand the pain. What do I do? I feel like when I go back to the Dr. She won t really make it better.

Thanks for posting this question in HCM
I am a neurologist
Let me tell you that a given medical symptoms/constellation of symptoms can be due to various causes and the main objective of the physician is to accurately establish the cause rather than simply giving a shot you know.
The causes of headache are many and some of them are brain infections like meningitis, tumnor in the brain, problems in the blood vessels of the brain and so on. On the other hand simple flu can also produce headache .
Back to your question, you have fever, cold, bloody mucus and headache. Under these circumstances the possibility of brain infection cannot be excluded. As you have already tried some medicines earlier without much improvement, i will strongly advise you to undergo a detailed medical and neurological evaluation. This will determine the nature of the problem and physician after examination will tell you if you need a brain scan or not. The second step will be do a spinal tap for CSF test (cerebrospinal fluid), as this is required to exclude brain infection. Your treatment will largely depend upon these tests and your physicians will guide you the way i have discussed above.
Hope this will help you
