Severe Headache With Pain In Shoulder And Severe Cough
My friend has been experiencing really bad headaches with pain which is located on her right side. The pain covers her head, check and in the top few vertebrae along with her shoulder . She has had an MRI scan which was clear of any shadows etc and she has been diagnosed with NT (sorry I can’t remember the correct name but this is how its referred in the medical profession), however she also has a very bad cough with loss of breath??? She has seen a chiropractor who has informed her that it is nerve related and that there is compression in the first few vertebrae and she is about to start treatment, but she has been in pain now for nearly a month with the pain ranging from a 10 out of 10 early in the morning to a 3 out of 10 in the evening, all of which is being managed by some strong pain killers prescribed by the doctor. I am worried that there have been little signs of improvement and that it is effecting her mental state as well, she is NEVER unwell Is it possible this could be pneumonia?
your friends cough which seems to be of a presumably longer duration is unlikely to be due to Pneumonia, it could be just COPD. regarding the head ache could be an cervical spondylosis compressing the nerve exit from the vertebral bodies.
regarding the pain causing mental agony is a very well known entity, she needs to use a cervical collar, physiotherapy & exercises
nice to know of somebody so concerned about his friend
hi.
the symptoms you are explaining do not correlates with the pneumonia. however if your doctor says that it is cervical disc ccompressing the spinal cord the she must feel pain also in her upper limbs and there is no association of the headache with the nerve compression. the symptoms seems to be more of migranous headache which is a psychiatric condition. i would suggest you to get her consultation from a psychatrist.
thanks
